One of my favorite things about his work is the mixture of classical exteriors with extremely crisp interiors. Few have the ability to mix the two. Ken has done an excellent job of it. I will be following his work for a long time. What is so great about this approach is that any of these homes will fit in with the old neighborhoods across the country.
Here is his take on a Scottish Revival:
And another renovation he did:
Ken, like others I've covered, used to work for Bobby McAlpine. Another great example of beautiful architecture in the south mixing classical designs with modern interiors. Hope you enjoyed. You can find more of his work at www.pursleyarchitecture.com. Don't miss the images of his studio.

There is certainly an "Auburn" thing happening.
I absolutely love his work! The details you see in his houses are truly original interpretations.
Great post...I've always admired his work. The kitchen in the fifth picture has been in my inspiration file for years.
I love his work too and love his interpretations.
I am so excited that I found your blog this morning. I loved the Riverhills Showhouse. You all did an amazing job on that project.
This is a great post. Thanks for sharing!

Such amazing work. I recently did a post on Ken Pursley's work myself.
You must share more of the architects you know of doing this type of work. It's my personal favorite style: classic architecture with a modern interpretation.
As a restorer of nearly a dozen classic historic homes, I am blown away by these images. And they say they don't build 'em like they used to!
Thanks for this post and getting to know what architecture in this context can achieve. The Scottish revival house is a beauty - from outside and inside. Simply wonderful.
I love his work too. Being in Charlotte I get to see it often. He is quite talented.
Amazing photos.. bedroom is simply gorgeous!Nice work indeed.
For me this place is like a mini castle. The design was awesome.

Wow, every room looks so spacious. The magic of good color combination really works for designing your home. I also did make over to my home last year. Before it looks, so ordinary and lifeless. My interior designer suggested a good paint for my wall which is orange in color. I want that my home design has a touch of classical and yet modern. He installed hand forged iron chandeliers in the living room and added some hand forged iron tables to the garden. I really love the result. My home looks so fabulous.
Fabulous blog, excellent taste! I really liked reading through it...so nice to see someone with a refined taste level! I started one myself 5 days ago, please take a look and let me know what you think! We have just started building our dream home...all the best to you in 2011!

Wow!!!!Such a Eye catching pictures!!!Awesome decor stuffs!!!I just go crazy for all ur chandliers... http://www.edgonline.com/ Cant take out my eyes of ur photos...
I like the interiors on this one! I really liked the Modern Twist series because it gave me inspiration on how am I going to change my home into something modern but looking like it's retro. I got tired of the design of my house interiors here in Mississippi. Cash advance loans have been acquired by my sibs, and they're starting to hire people who would do the reconstruction. I got a fast cash advance loan for the furniture. I'll be using one this series as an inspiration for the remodeling. Thanks for sharing the photos!
I love the deep farmhouse sink in the kitchen! It always gives a room a very functional feel!
I love this post, it was very stunning and how I really like the bed. It was awesome. Thank you and keep posting.

wow these are magnificent locations, that expert bed is amazing!!!
I love using light colored carpets on bedroom just like the one shown in 12th picture. But the problem is in keeping it spot free. But thanks to carpet cleaning canyon county, it is no more a daunting task.
He has designed the interiors in such a way that there is good ventilation in all the rooms. The presence of french window adds to the charm.
The interiors is incredible and architecture is unbelievably creative incorporating the essence of modern and contemporary.
This blog posts are very informative. I have a similar blog myself. I’ll add more examples as they come in, which I’m sure they will help full for your blog.

The wood ceilings and beams in photos 2 and 3 are awesome! I love that rustic feel.
So luck to come across your excellent blog. Your blog brings me a great deal of fun.. Good luck with the site.
I think lighting may be one of the most overlooked items in decor but it really plays an important role in creating the look you are going for. It really stood out to me in several of the photos showing period chandeliers.
Hi Trey,
I have been referred to you by Larry Hartman in Dallas. I am hoping you are the right Trey – did you used to be associated with Iron Craft?
A connection of mine in Dallas put me in touch with Larry because I was looking for some information on steel windows and doors. He seemed to think you could help. I hope you can!
Please let me know if you are the right person.
Your email address on here is not working. If you could reply to this message in here, I will send you my contact details.

Sorry, I just saw this. You can email me at trey_laird@yahoo.com
I was intrigued by the kitchen in photo number 5 coming down from the top. The lower cabinets stick out a little bit and have legs coming down in front of the bottom cabinets. It almost looks like a desk with a kitchen cabinet stuck underneath. I think I like it. It has a beautiful range and double oven also.
Thanks for sharing this wnderful work ! I myself particularly like the bali blinds bucksin and shangri-la shades.
